O knihe

For Gilbert Hottois, the humanism of the future is techno-scientific and is expressed in what is today called transhumanism, augmented man or Human Enhancement. It presents itself as a humanism, because it is progressive humanism that allows us to integrate technoscientific revolutions, it restores meaning and hope in an erratic and nostalgic postmodernity of the pre-modern past. It allows us to crystallize very considerable problems and risks. It is not a question for us of making a historical reminder or a simple description, but a challenge to act and adopt this new revolution. The objective of this research is a proposal of technoprogressism, which refers to a philosophy that advocates and adopts the use of all new technologies to radically improve the human condition: extension of human life, improvement of physical, sensory, cognitive and emotional capacities etc. The goal is not perfect humanity, nor a kind of stupid superhumanity that would always have a smile on its face, but a humanity satisfied with its values.
