O knihe
Although Temporary anchorage devices have been in existence for more than 35 years, it is only within the past decade that their use has become as increasingly common in orthodontic practice, the utilization of Temporary anchorage devices can expand the horizons of conventional treatment. Temporary anchorage devices (TADs) are generally miniscrews placed in either alveolar or extra-alveolar bone for the purpose of providing orthodontic anchorage. The hallmark of this device is its immediate loading on insertion and intended removal once it has completed its function in the treatment regimen. During orthodontic treatment it is crucial to prevent the unintentional movement of the anchorage unit while causing movement of other teeth. Conventional methods of anchorage control came along with many shortcomings. The introduction of skeletal anchorage in the form of temporary anchorage devices (TADs) or Miniscrews has greatly benefited orthodontists in finding a way to neglect complex surgical intervention with minimum patient compliance, the use of TADs has made orthodontic anchorage less reliant upon patient cooperation.
