They clung to their LXX and their lie that Satan was a fallen angel and rejected the Kingdom of Heaven and fell with Jerusalem in 70 AD; Daniel 2:44.
Today, Gnostic leaders still believe that the Lord is a respecter of persons and that they have knowledge outside of the Bible. It keeps their people in line and relieves them of their responsibility of neither adding nor taking away from the Bible. These Gnostic men will protect their doctrine 3 John vs. 9; John 11:48 and prevent their own from entering the Kingdom of Heaven.
