O knihe
Geographic vulnerability, territorial immensity, and immeasurable natural and mineral wealth have made Africa a more favorable terrain for the production of refugees than any other continent on the planet. Moreover, in this African universe, the Great Lakes region constitutes a natural territory of exchanges and migrations, with a strong cultural and linguistic homogeneity and an enormous potential for development. However, in recent history, this region has suffered from multiple conflicts, which have devastated the economic and social fabric and generated significant population displacements. However, the displacements resulting from such situations can pose specific problems for host countries, especially if they grant asylum to large refugee communities, sometimes for years. There is, therefore, a need to promote international protection of refugees in the Great Lakes region today. With this in mind, the analysis of "The Great Lakes Region and International Refugee Protection" was the focus of our study.
