According to scholars, entrepreneurship is the engine of the economy in capitalist countries that adhere to neoliberalism. Through free enterprise entrepreneurs generate through their businesses thousands of jobs, which provide the population with access to the consumption of goods and services. Although small and medium sized companies are responsible for the production of approximately 27% of the GDP in Brazil, the survival rate of these organizations is very sensitive to the oscillations of the economic scenario and to the discernment of their managers.
