The misfortunes began immediately as his first experience on a ship nearly killed him, but he perceived it. His next journey to Guinea made him both a Sailor & a Merchant. Now several hundred pounds richer, Crusoe sails against Africa where his ship was taken over by sail pirates and he was enslaved by a Moor. Two years later he escaped to Brazil. Ambitious for more wealth Crusoe joined an expedition to kidnap and enslave the people from Africa. The misfortunes continued and his ship was nearly destroyed, having Crusoe as the only survivor left on a desolate shore.
