O knihe
The Nneka Principle in Chinua Achebe's Novels: An Archetypal Reading is a well researched undertaking aimed at exploring the long held belief that Chinua Achebe is anti-women in his Novels. Muneeni identifies Mother Archetypes across all Achebe's novels whom Achebe has allocated important roles, more important than their male counterparts, a base that he uses to prove that indeed women have not been subverted. Further, Muneeni traces the gradual elevation of women characters, starting with the naïve Nneka and other womenfolk in the first novel to Beatrice in the last one, which he symbolically terms as "women relay" in which the last woman to receive the baton, Beatrice, wins the race against men's subversive powers. A new approach to Achebe's over a decade study, the research is a must read for anyone who wants to understand Achebe's works from a totally new perspective.
