O knihe
The book is founded on Henry Odera Oruka's concept of Ethical Minimum from which this theme is formulated: THE RIGHT TO AN ETHICAL HUMAN MINIMUM. Oruka argues that the principle of ethical human minimum is a right, a universal, inherent and inalienable right with an ethical duty from every capable moral agent to assist the poor in the society as a duty and not a charity. The objectives of this study are to: analyze Oruka's concept of ethical minimum as foundation of human rights; to show that by recognizing human rights is the starting point of solving the problem of inequality; and examine the relationship between ethical minimum and sagacity as foundation for human rights. The troubling question in this study is how do we address the problem of inequality in the society using Oruka's ethical theory that is inequality as a right's challenge. The book reveals that, Oruka's ethical theory is a universal theory that can bring about the integration of human rights in terms of their: respect; protection; enjoyment and perpetuation of the fundamental freedoms and rights across the board devoid of any sort of discrimination.
