O knihe
This book considers the topic of the right to education for migrant children seeking international protection and refugees, in the context of the European Union, following the Mediterranean Refugee Crisis that began in 2013. This Thesis was written with the intention of explaining the current approach towards education and the right to education in the European Union: it observes the laws on the "best interest of the child", the right to education and their interpretation from the observation on the number of data and publications concerning this topic which is, in most cases, particularly scarce. Education, especially for minors, is a cornerstone for their future success: the proper development of their cognitive and personal skills will lead to higher success in the working, social and personal field. Nonetheless, access to education is not automatic: the conclusive picture is extremely heterogeneous. The scope of this research is, therefore, to understand how it is possible to improve the current system so that the right to education is always respected, for everyone.
