O knihe

The book develops the theme of the evolution of musical declamation up to our times from a philosophical approach. The journey begins with the book Filosofía de la música, by the thinker -Latin American by adoption, Iberian by origin- Juan David García Bacca. There, he exposes a postulate that deals with a progressive chain whose links are represented by the different types of Gregorian chants sung during the first centuries of Christianity. This chain is characterized by its progressiveness in terms of its symbolism, which oscillates from the divine to the mundane spheres. Each of the genres treated are here analyzed and interrelated. The work contains fragments of scores. This structure of concatenation represents the scaffolding of vocal music -and a good part of instrumental music- both in Europe and in the American continent up to the present day. It is the historical transcendence of the last two millennia.
