O knihe

Congenital absence of one or more teeth is called "Tooth Agenesis", and it is one of the most common developmental dental anomalies in humans. Although the heterogeneous and complex etiology of dental agenesis is not fully known, it is generally accepted that both environmental and genetic factors play a significant role in its pathogenesis. Tooth agenesis can exist in a non-syndromic form that affects only teeth or a syndromic form accompanied by organ or tissue involvement. Tooth agenesis is associated with at least 45 syndromes, but few have information regarding the phenotype of missing teeth pattern. In this book, clinical and dental features of nine syndromes associated with tooth agenesis were presented. Knowing the clinical features of the disease, and providing dental rehabilitation of the patients are crucial to increase the patients' life quality.
