Parole de psychiatre is a collection of memories proposed in a tone of confidence, intended to make known the regrets, the anguishes and the reflections of a psychiatrist. It is an original and captivating work, partly autobiographical, written during the confinement that followed the pandemic that we are living. In the first part, he offers us the confessions of an old psychiatrist who practiced in Algiers, his profession as a priesthood for more than half a century. In the second part, he discusses the relationship of the specialty with the political and social. In the last chapters, he returns to the expertise of the assassin of President Mohamed Boudiaf and that of the American prisoners in Tehran before their departure to Algiers, then he speaks to us about the birth of Algerian psychiatry by approaching the essential role of two emblematic figures: Frantz Fanon and Khaled Benmiloud.
