O knihe
The twenty-first century has so far seen insightful literature being written on the role of the church and other organisations in community transformation, yet many African communities still remain untransformed to date. Such a paradoxical situation as this triggers an obvious inquiry into the effectiveness of current transformational tasks and strategies being employed by churches and other organisations. Theory and practice of community transformation has been written in order to address both theoretical and practical considerations for effective community transformation to occur. This book is based on the interpretive task of the author's original research into the effectiveness of the Sesheke Church's (interdenominational) community transformational task. The research has been conducted in the specific setting of the author's home town of Sesheke in Western Zambia, but the discoveries and practical lessons drawn from there as contained in this book will also help other churches and organizations to become more effective in transforming their communities. A critical highlight of this book is that community transformation, inter alia, encapsulates both local and global concepts.
