O knihe
Thermal management is one of the key challenges in nanoelectronic and optoelectronic devices. The development of van der Waals heterostructure (vdWH) using vertical positioning of different two-dimensional (2D) materials has recently appeared as a promising way of attaining desirable electrical, optical, and thermal properties. Very recently, a novel stanene/2D-SiC hetero-bilayer has been proposed with exceptional electrical properties which could make this hetero-bilayer a good candidate for special applications in nanoelectronics and optoelectronics. This book explains the in-plane thermal conductivity (k) and out-of-plane interfacial thermal resistance (R) in this hetero-bilayer using reverse non-equilibrium molecular dynamics and transient pump-probe methods. The impact of temperature, system size, and coupling effect on the thermal transport are explored systematically. Various phonon modes responsible for the thermal transport are also discussed.
