About the Author

Sterling Beirness is retired and lives in the Cariboo, where he has lived since the fall of 1962. Throughout the years, he's worked a number of jobs, holding positions in lumber mills, the logging industry, and on various farms and ranches. He has also owned a couple of placer claims and sold firewood. In the fall, he still likes to spend a few days chopping his own firewood.

Beirness lives with his dog named Spirit, two cats, two budgies, and a few laying hens. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and hunting. In addition, his hobbies include photography, woodworking, writing and oil painting wildlife scenery.
