O knihe

Humans depend on the natural resources for their subsistence. Apart from their ecological functions, forest resources are the sources timber, shelter for wildlife, means of livelihoods, tourism, construction materials and potential sources of food in many instances. However, the ever increasing human population on the planet, low level of awareness on the ecological importance of trees, deforestation, land degradation, environmental pollution and weak policy and strategy implementation and some other factors these essential land resources which sustained the life of humanity are highly endangered. As a result of these, the effect of climate change in the form of drought, flood, epidemics, pest and disease infestation is getting rampant in many parts of the world. It is, therefore, a high time for local, regional and global environmental conservation conventions to be translated into action at utmost urgency if the planet has to be saved for the next generation in a sustainable way.
