O knihe

This book is in many ways a personal account, a journey through the world of GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), as seen by one of the methods most experienced user (especially for archaeology and forensic science). In this way, the author is hoping to demonstrate by example, and thus avoid what he says in his introduction: that this is 'not another book on GPR'. The aim of this book is to give a manageable guide for the clear and understandable connection between GPR theory and practice. For this purpose, I have decided to write this book, giving the tools to better comprehend and correctly use the ground penetrating radar in different fields through a list of real cases. The multiplicity of possible GPR uses makes obvious the consideration that it is an essential and multi-tasking operation, in objectively complex fields and employing investigation tools of various kinds. The purpose of this book is to progress the ability to calibrate the GPR intervention in a correct way, facing different problems and difficulties. The cooperation of the various 'entities' involved during a GPR investigation is crucial for keeping alive the credibility of this technique in the future.
