In the fall of 1898 I left Brown University and came to Mad ison, Wis, to work in the University of Wisconsin as instructor in English. I have been here ever since.
I spent the summer of 1900 abroad, chie¿y in London, where I was working in the British Museum. Impressions - that one can live very comfortably in London if one rooms in an outlying town, like Wimbledon, and works all day long in the non-com mittal atmosphere of the Museum reading-room.
