O knihe

The aim is to understand how adolescents perceive their affective relationships and situations of conflict/violence in dating, as well as the participation of the social support network in coping with them. The scenario in which violence erupts is characterized by the prevalence of macho ideology in gender relations, resulting in the naturalization of male domination as a form of symbolic violence. The relevance of this work is that it provides support for developing strategies that take into account the context of adolescents' socialization, opening up spaces for new articulations, capable of recomposing the boundaries between roles, functions and qualities for each gender, modifying current ideologies. The theoretical-methodological framework used is inspired by Pierre Bourdieu's theorizing on power, violence and symbolic domination, incorporating Joan Scott's conceptual references on gender, which are closely intertwined in the analysis process. We have grasped the complexity of the phenomenon and understand that acting on the origins of violence at the beginning of adolescent relationships may be the best way to combat or minimize it.
