Wonder Up! How to Run Like a Girl is the story of Evie, a spunky young girl with her sights set on finishing her first running race - The Mighty Girl Sprint. With the support of her mom, dad, and feline sidekick, Evie learns that a balanced approach to training will help her reach the finish line and secure a coveted sparkly finisher's medal.

A challenging training schedule along with healthy fuel, rest, and a secret motivational weapon help Evie push through the toughest part of the race - an enormously long, winding, super steep hill. As she reaches the hilltop and heads toward the finish line, Evie realizes the importance of balanced planning in achieving big goals.
Charlotte Matthews is known as "mom" to the real-life Evie, a spirited 8-year-old, whose love of running inspired the Wonder Up! series. From the time Evie was born, Charlotte and her husband, Patrick, took Evie along on road running races. Evie completed her first 5K in a stroller, and she even received a sparkly finisher's medal! Evie's enthusiasm for racing and common refrain to "Go faster, Mom!" inspired Charlotte to write and illustrate a book that would help other girls realize the joy, freedom and confidence that running offers.
When she's not running or being a mom and wife, Charlotte is an artist, Certified Personal Trainer and Master Certified Health Coach. You can learn about her fitness & health coach support at kindcharlotte.com. You can view Evie's artwork and short stories at eviepizzacat.com.
